EBN met with the team of EU|BIC Startup Leiria last December and had the chance to hear from Victor about their regional champions reaching far across borders. Keep an eye out for the rich potential of the companies coming from the Leiria region!

Startup Leiria is a growing innovation ecosystem in one of the most industrialized areas of Portugal. It supports more than 90 companies and host a variety of programs in IT, Agritech, AI, IoT and manage a social incubator with more than 20 social projects. They are part of a strong collaborative network that includes associations, higher education, research labs and others. 

For us, EBN is very important to learn best practices from more established hubs, see what they are doing in other ecosystems. What works and what doesn't work in funding, in acceleration models - that's quite interesting for us. Startup Leira has experimented with several approaches in the past with relative success and we want to learn from everyone in the network.
