CAST Virtual Hackathon aims to identify effective answers to the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic poses to the tourism sector.

In this framework the focus is on two main topics:

Business continuity in the tourism sector
New sustainable business models

The Hackathon is organised by EBN in collaboration with Creative Business Cup and EBN Member WestBIC.

PROGRAMME

1 July 2020 - Day 1

13:00	Opening session
15:00	Ideation workshop
16:00	Teams work on their solutions

2 July 2020 - Day 2

10:00	First checkpoint: meet the mentors
15:00	Business development or validation workshop
16:00	Teams validate their solutions and start working on a business case/pitch

3 July 2020 - Day 3

10:00	Second Checkpoint: plan, progress and problems
11:30	Pitching workshop
14:00	Closing session
16:00	Evaluation meeting (Facilitator and jurors)
17:00	Prize ceremony and definition of the winner

PARTICIPATION & REGISTRATION

Participation in the CAST Hackathon is free of charge. The participants registered to the CAST Hackathon will obtain a free access ticket to all the sessions and meetings organised during the BRIGHT week.

Participation is open to anyone related to the tourism industry: hackers, business professionals, developers, designers, coaches, mentors, etc.

TEAMS

Teams can consist of 1 person to 6 people.

If you would like to participate in a team, we recommend that you organise this in advance of the Hackathon. However, if one or more individuals wish to team-up during the Hackathon this will also be possible through Slack.

CAST is a 3-year collaborative project co-funded by the COSME programme of the European Commission under GA n.806917. CAST started in July 2018 developing a network of incubators & accelerators, startups, SMEs and financiers to form a European community committed to promoting knowledge-sharing, the use of technology and collaboration across borders for sustainable tourism, while helping the companies address common challenges.
