He is the Head of the ICAROS Centre and PRISMA Laboratory at the University of Naples Federico II. He is a member of IEEE, ASME, IFAC and has been the President of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society. His book “Robotics” is one of the most frequently adopted academic texts in the world, whilst his “Springer Handbook of Robotics” received the PROSE Award for Ex Excellence in Physical Sciences & Mathematics. Over the past 8 years, 15 projects of his research team were funded by the European Union for a total of 8.5 mln euros.
