Ana María Méndez has a degree on Business Administration by the University of Oviedo, Certification in Management of European Projects by PMI and Master in Local Development. Project Manager and Business Advisor with 22 years of experience always linked to European Projects (H2020, CIP, Interreg, Atlantic Area Program...)
After being Head of one Centre for Entrepreneurial Initiatives and technical staff in the European Initiative Urban II, she joins in 2002 to CEEI Asturias team where she has got high specialization supporting innovative and technology-based SMEs and worked as Expert in Business Support Services for the European Commission.
Since 2008, she has worked and coordinated projects to boost tech/ICT&creative industries in Asturias in the context of Horizon 2020 (ACE Creative), CIP (JamToday), Interreg IVC (Creative Growth, BooGames) as well as in the national context for Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (Asturias4ICC, Crea&Tech) and DGPyme (Big Bang Explosion de Ideas). She coordinated Acceleration Programs, such as Let's Game Asturias (for game sector) and currently Crea&Tech (focused on the hybridization between creative industries and technology to boost their competitiveness through innovation, technology and access to market). Furthermore, she has experience in EU projects focused on access to finance for SMEs (Difass, AT Venture...), as a coach in Investment Readiness Services and as menber of the jury in pitching sessions.
Currently, she is also coach for the InvestHorizon Program funded by the EC and mentor for tech companies in international contexts.
