Inga is a research fellow in the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and also holds the position of Secretariate for the Nordic Forest Research (SNS) which is a co-operation partner to the Nordic Council of Ministers and responsible for the forest sector. SNS’s goal is policy advice to the Nordic Council of Ministers by research financing of Nordic networks. Thus, Inga’s main tasks are networking and coordination between different interest groups, such as governmental officials, intergovernmental institutions, research communities and the industry, across sectors (agriculture, forestry, fishery, environmental). At the EU level Inga is responsible for SNS's activities in the ERA-NET Sumforest. Here, web design, development, and research communication on European level are the main tasks (www.sumforest.org). Inga holds a PhD from the Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology in the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. She is contributing her expertise in microbial (fungal and bacterial) community profiling and microbial soil processes in order to investigate the forest's carbon balance during regrowth after clear cutting.
