Eduardo Diaz is head of the New Technology-based Firms Unit at Fundacion para el Conocimiento madri+d. He is a graduate in Physics by the University of Salamanca and MBA by the Instituto de Empresa, Madrid. Since 2004 he coordinates Entrepreneurship Regional Programmes and International Initiatives in the fields of start-up incubation (ESA BIC Madrid Region, healthStart, cleantechStart), mentoring (Red de Mentores de Madrid), financing (Business Angel Network BAN madri+d) and cross-fertilization (innoSmart). He is also an expert in the design and development of regional innovation policies and technology transfer. He joined SOCINTEC in 1993 where as Manager Consultant he coordinated projects and studies for the European Commission, the Spanish Government and other institutions related to R&D and innovation. He also has a Doctorate Diploma in Industrial Engineering and Technology Management and worked as university lecturer, software engineer and Project Controller in the electronics and aerospace sectors, i.e. for the European Eurofighter - EFA project at INDRA.
