Sector expertise:

David combines policy, strategy and European work with consultancy as a media producer and bid-writer. He has a role at Coventry University Enterprises leading Cluster 2020, part of the European Creative Industries Alliance’s €100m private/public partnership. This project is developing next generation business support, enabling SME's to overcome barriers and seize opportunities for growth. It has a focus around cluster excellence, cross-innovation and building effective regional ecosystems.

His other work includes producing media content and advising companies on implementing digital services. His recent bid-writing covers technology, innovation and EU calls, including FP7 and the Creative Industries.

Between 2007-2010 he worked as policy and strategy lead for the digital/creative sector at Advantage West Midlands, part of the UK’s regional government. He developed and had oversight of €20m+ of sector projects.

David has extensive experience of working and surviving in the fast changing world of digital media as a business owner too. He ran a media production company for many years that evolved from television, through interactive media to learning systems and artificial intelligence. This business went through many stages, including being venture capital backed and having a development team in India as well as the UK.

He started his career working in television, both BBC and ITV, as an editor, working on drama, documentary and news output.

David is passionate about what he does and enjoys photography, indie-production of short films and watching movies ... when he isn’t at work!
