Jihane Chahla has been QOOT Cluster Manager since July 2018. With a background in agricultural engineering and food safety, she has more than 15 years of experience between food safety, quality assurance and control, fundraising, and capacity building in F&B related projects.

In her current role at Berytech, Jihane manages all the activities related to QOOT, Lebanon Agri-Food Innovation cluster. In charge of creating and initiating the cluster, she continuously puts in place the needed structures, policies, and processes in order to optimize communication and create synergies between Lebanese enterprises, rising SMEs, multinational companies, knowledge providers, support institutions, investment entities, and the broader agri-food ecosystem in Lebanon.

Before joining Berytech, Jihane was a Quality Assurance Manager and a Project Manager at Souk El Tayeb – one of Lebanon’s prominent social enterprises. Having joined the firm in its early days, Jihane had the chance to be part of its bold evolution and growth. Besides managing the quality assurance and quality control policies and processes, Jihane was particularly in charge of the firm’s end-to-end capacity building and livelihood program. Her responsibilities related to both strategy and field work as she juggled managing international funds and reporting to donors with hands-on responsibilities like designing the program and directing staff members.

Jihane is a graduate of the Lebanese University with a Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering and a Master of Science in Animal Production.

She is passionate about activities in nature including hiking, rafting, and camping as well as being a devoted mum of three.
