Irina Asaftei, a Project Manager with NESsT, is supporting the development of several social business in Romania, including some led by Roma entrepreneurs from rural communities. With over 10 years experience in non-profit and private sectors, Irina has worked in Romania, Uganda, Singapore and the UK, specializing in project design and management, organization development, capacity building, and communications. Before joining NESsT, she lived and worked in the Philippines for 2,5 years where she co-founded a social enterprise, employing and training young persons with disabilities. She holds an MBA degree in International Organizations Management from the University of Geneva and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest.
