David obtained a Ph.D. in Fusion Physics at Imperial College, London. Returning to Ireland, he was active in wind energy research before founding Force Field electric fencing in 1984. David was a delegate to the 1995 White House Conference on Trade and Investment in Ireland. He studied US business on the Ron Brown programme at Boston College. David has worked as an expert technical and commercial evaluator for the European Commission. From 2008-2011, he led the company participation in the €4M E Stars project to develop new battery technology for wireless sensors.
